In order to Reconnect, Unplug for a bit.

Blue sky

Every once in a while, I decide to unplug technology as much as possible. Instead of weighting down my thoughts, I was thinking I would share some ways I use technology and social networks to help myself. Which happens, I find, if I use it too much. We must enhance our reality in more practical ways, so that the world on our smartphones seems far less significant about who and how we invest our time.

One very simple way to disconnect is by finding ways to incorporate more movement into our days. Somewhere to walk, stretch or exercise. For instance, using our smartphones often leaves us quite immobile and affects our posture and neck if we are too restless. I observe so much more, especially the sky, by gazing less at my phone. So, take a little time and go outdoors and gaze up if you have the chance right now. The grandeur of heaven is usually wonderful, making you feel as little as possible.

There is so much more out there than we ever find, and things truly come to light. Often, whether I am troubled by an image or statement or anything, it sounds so unimportant and, in fact, I feel silly for wasting precious time on it. The same applies to insecurities, which frequently result from comparisons, which give little value and distract you, if anything, from the beauty of your own lifetime.

In this world, there is so much to explore and in your spirit, I would not squander anything so tiny for another minute. Another way of disconnecting is by still actually using technology, but just using it differently. I find it unbelievably soothing and centering music and specific sounds. We can divert our time by hearing stories that inspires us and by looking at art. This eliminates the noise from notifications and messages. and yet we can still cultivate the richness in our life through exposure to so much art and ideas. I have frequently seen people advocate silent meditation as a way to feel more centralised when the world appears chaotic. I admire anyone who is able to meditate for a long period of time, and I'm glad to know how well some individuals do it. Most of the time, I live in a really quiet environment, so meditation seems a little strange if it's completely still. My way of meditating and being in touch with myself is through movement.

To create, to paint and to draw, our hands must move. Our mind has to concentrate on something, whether written words, music, or ideas. We are most peaceful with ourselves when we are most creative. I encourage you to find the optimal technique for meditation, since I don't think anyone has a specific form. Meditation isn't limited to sitting in a room. If anything, I think meditation by movement may be equally useful depending on who you are, especially if you are not very active, if you walk or hike. Everything helps you feel comfortable and creative.

Another way to disconnect is by not fearing boredom. This sensation is unbelievably capable of inspiring you with new thoughts and a hobby interest.

Lastly, always strive to designate a period free of undesirable distractions throughout your evenings.
